Dr. Phillip JacobsonSenior Medical DirectorDr. Jacobson served as the senior medical director for Base10 Genetics, a company that helps healthcare personnel deliver higher quality medical care at lower cost and improved efficiency, through innovations in information technology. Dr. Jacobson spearheads the clinical services group, responsible for creating the products that require clinical and scientific expertise, including clinical decision support. Dr. Jacobson composed Covid 19 testing algorithms for long term care and corporate clients, which were used for screening and diagnostic testing for over 1.5 million people. Dr. Jacobson also composed a variety of clinical decision support algorithms to enhance the ability of providers in the diagnosis and treatment of multiple disease entities, with an emphasis on infectious diseases. Dr. Jacobson has extensive experience as a clinician and associate professor in the treatment and prevention of respiratory infections, most notably, viruses. He has written and lectured extensively on this topic, with an emphasis on respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Dr. Jacobson is receiving certification in AI in Healthcare from MIT Sloan School of Management, enabling him to expand his contributions to improvement and efficiency of healthcare via information technologyDr. Jacobson is certified in clinical management of pharmacogenomics and participated in the development of the pharmacogenomics program at Base10. He also assists and advises the team responsible for the nutrigenomics program.Dr. Jacobson has served as a quality improvement director in a major academic center for approximately 10 years. He designed and implemented numerous projects, including clinical decision support tools, that have enhanced medical care and improved patient experience. He also mentored many trainees on the QI (quality improvement) process.
