Growing up, I was often obsessed with selling, and would engage frequently in various conversations aimed at positive sales outcomes. Failed conversions in the past have taught me that a better pitch, or a completely different language, and a retargeting to a different audience would bear far greater results. I would attribute my greatest wins to an inquisitive nature and the desire to understand the customer at the core and how best to meet those needs.I began my career with a short stint in teaching at the University of New South Wales, and recognised that I had a unique opportunity to teach, nurture and help shape the most valuable asset any organisation has, its people. I was privileged to have had a chance to harness diverse viewpoints and opinions in the pursuit of positive strategies and solutions. In 2003, I co-founded and started a retail business and developed a passion for brand development, nurturing concepts into saleable brands under the Eastern Hill umbrella of multi-brands. Footage Made was developed as our main tailoring brand with a focus on crafting modern classics that cater to a clientele wanting tailored classics without the hefty bespoke price tag. Eastern Hill General Supplies, our printed tee brand references a unique re-telling of small business stories at the heart of townships like Darlinghurst. This is key to captivating the romance of the area where the retail store is located. Isle of Tigers, another concept references Straits born people (and culture) of Singapore/Indonesia, and is projected to cover gourmet foods that are distinctive of cuisines synonymous with Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia and other South East Asian-centric products that appeal to a customer base who have lived or travelled to South East Asia and wish to rekindle their love affair with the South East. I'm involved in end-to-end daily management of a Bricks and Mortar shop, incorporating an online web-based business with a focus on managing a multitude of brands (near 200) over the years across fashion, lifestyle and gourmet food categories. By 2016, my retail business has expanded into an Omni-channel business, notably launching an e-commerce platform in 2016.
