Retired - Manage all business, operation and maintenance activities at this wood fired plant. Developed and implemented all environmental, health and safety programs, hired and trained staff, developed operating procedures and helped bring this project from construction to operation three months ahead of schedule. Plant staff has worked more than 24 years without a Lost Time accident. Plant operating availability has averaged over 96% and earnings have exceeded budget by more than 80% since initial operation in June of 1992. Reduced plant staff by 19% (from 27 to 22 employees). Negotiated Reduced Dispatch Agreement with Utility and various new contracts. Administered the land spreading of our ash. Prepare the plant yearly budget and all plans and reports submitted to the MDEQ, DOE & EPA.

Managed the plant through a major yearly outage. Negotiated stack testing requirements with the MDEQ to test burn various alternative fuels. Administer Power Purchase Agreement, Fuel Supply, Waste Water Disposal and Ash Disposal Contracts. Continue to perform Plant O & M Superintendent duties. During 1997, we set project records in availability (97.78%) and earnings (exceeded budget by 35%) while having our safest year (0 lost times, 1 recordable, and 0 first aid injuries).

Conducted due diligence review of potential projects, including review of Power Contracts, Fuel Contracts and Operation and Maintenance Contracts. Provided Company Officers with recommendations regarding the viability of potential projects. Responsible for performing technical design review of green field projects and potential plant purchases and designing modification to existing projects. Helped establish administrative procedures. Assisted operating plants in developing major outage plans and helped manage these outages.

Operated this twin unit coal and wood fired plant during startup and performance testing. Supervised a crew of operators and assisted in the training of the whole operations department.

Managed all startup activities and personnel at this wood fired plant. Developed flush and hydrostatic test procedures, loop check procedures and performance testing procedures for all major equipment. Supervised initial synchronization and all performance testing (mech., elect. and I&C). Assisted with the performance testing at the two additional Viking Energy plants in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Responsible for directing & supervising the activities of the control room and auxiliary operators, startup personnel, technicians and crafts on my shift during the startup and commissioning of this twin unit fluidized bed boiler plant. I ran major equipment & extraction turbine, performed flushes and hydrostatic tests and troubleshot the L&N Max 1 DCS.

Certified to ANSI 45.2.6 as a Level II Test Specialist. Responsibilities include: preparation, review & the performance of Initial Startup Test Procedures. Tested all HVAC systems and components and performed the initial system balancing. Coordinated & supervised construction trades. Performed rotating equip. vibration analysis, evaluated test data & identified test deficiencies, did walk downs to ensure compliance with purchase specs. and also reviewed system turnovers from the contractor to the client.
