My responsibilities involve developing and teaching 200, 300 and 400 level undergraduate courses in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice, including such courses as criminal procedure, criminal justice, law and social control, cyber law, law and digital forensics, and workplace law and society. I also serve as an affiliate faculty member of ODU's School of Cybersecurity and as a member of ODU's Policy Review Committee. Other professional interests include police-citizen relations; constitutional and other legal and policy considerations in the use of enhanced investigative techniques and use of force; law enforcement ethics; media relations; national security law; and civil liberties and privacy issues.
