Direct and manage a highly efficient pan-European team across 9 regional centres to deliver and maintain customer and internal service continuity over a pan European network of 100000+km of fibre optic cable, 14 Data Centres and over 1500 connected facilities. Accountable for: Optical and Infrastructure Design, Architecture, Engineering & Development; all in-country field and facility engineering; development, expansion, maintenance and management of facilities including 15 Data Centres and network infrastructure for one of Europe's largest fibre optic networks connecting to over 126 cities, including 29 city networks. Key achievements:  Instrumental to the implementation and development of one of the largest pan European optical fibre networks➢ Increased energy efficiency (reduced consumption by 1.7GW hours/year) and reduced CO2 consumption of the Geneva Data Center resulting in receipt of the 2018 SIG GIGA Trophy (awarded to companies in recognition of long-term commitment to improving energy efficiency, and those who have reduced electricity consumption by more than one gigawatt hour per year).➢ Contributed significantly to due diligence event leading to successful sale of Interoute to GTT.➢ Increased stability of owned Data Centre plant reducing intervention and service impact via introduction of a program of facility refresh combined with organisation restructure and refocus.➢ Delivered all-new Madrid Data Centre and office facility, a ground up build.

Accountable, as technical design and engineering authority, for all optical (DWDM, SDH, PDH, Ethernet, Fibre Channel) and bandwidth customer requirements, transmission technologies and platforms related to Interoute’s pan European network.Key achievements: ➢ Won inaugural Chairman’s Award in 2007 for ‘person exemplifying the best at Interoute through their extraordinary efforts to help the Company reach its goals’.➢ Developed Interoute’s transmission network from start-up into Europe’s largest core and metropolitan footprint. ➢ Built and structured the Transmission Engineering function and teams from the ground up. ➢ Managed vendor relationships for all transmission related technologies, resulting in year on year savings of €4M+.➢ Orchestrated introduction of one of Europe’s first deployments of all new Infinera DWDM platform, with 12500km network wide turn-up from order to ready for service in 4 months. This key innovation massively simplified operational delivery for all wavelength services while reducing service turn-up timescales from weeks to hours. ➢ Project managed multiple large-scale telecoms infrastructure builds and customer roll-out programs including a 3750km customer network across Central Europe.
