    Project purpose was to update and upgrade the existing telephony system. The updates were to the applications and telephony switch and the upgrade was to install all new hardware and operating systems. Performed the project initiation process within the PMO at OUC. Worked with the PMO and local technical resources to scope the cost, vendor requirements, internal resource requirements and system requirements for submission to the Orlando City Commission for approval. Project was approved for a $1.2M budget. Project scope was to update the existing VoIP system components to the latest version to include all of the dependent applications—Xpressions voicemail, Unified Communications, OpenScape Voice telephony switch and Mobility. During the update process, each application and the existing High Path 4000 were updated with the latest software versions. The HP 4000 was scaled down and repurposed to two locations to provide critical site operability facilitating disaster preparedness. Each application, inclusive of the telephony switch, was moved to new VM hardware including new Linux and MS operating systems.
