The management role was as head of R&D, working with managers of the New Technologies, Development and Infrastructure departments. There was additional liason with other departments such as the Customer Support and the Marketing/Sales department to coordinate activities.Whilst overseeing the various technical departments, my main activities continued as the senior analyst / developer, mostly developing new software features as required.

This was a switch from development team management, to instead focus more directly on the senior analyst / developer role, featuring:- a rewrite of the software (version 10) to run on Windows, using the Progress OpenEdge platform.
