Julie Welsh with her neighbour Phil Muller, who she says is the Caboolture districts best neighbour,WOODFORDS Mr Fix It, Phil Muller, is in the running for Australias best neighbour crown. And it is easy to see why. Mr Muller helps an elderly woman in the community with her weekly shopping and mowing, and even tends to her vegetable patch. His hospitality extends to those new to the community, helping new neighbours with concreting during the construction of their house. He is held in high regard by neighbours, in particular Julie Welsh, who has nominated him for the 2010 Neighbour Day Awards, supported by Quest Newspapers. A hunnble Mr Muller said he was shocked to be nominated for the award. " You dont do these kinds of things to get recognition, just something you do, I suppose," he said. Mr Muller said everyone should take the time to getto know their neighbours. " Its good to have someone to trustand rely on in times of need," he said, Mrs Welsh said neighbours in her small community kept an eye out for one another, but Mr Muller was a standout.Phil will go out of his way for you, Hell do anything for anybody," she said. Mr Mullers neighbour for the past six years, Mrs Welsh said it was comforting to know he was around when her husband was away for work. "Its nice to know there is someone to call on in dire straits, someone to watch out for you," she said.
