My name is Phil Raybould. I am a consultant petrographer with a background in Geology/Geo-materials investigation and Quality Management. I specialise in material identification, specification compliance, standard testing, forensic investigation and the diagnosis of failure of non-metallic industrial and constructional materials of all kinds, including aggregate, concrete, mortars, plasters, renders, grouts, stone and dust. I take care to produce clear and informative reports and include photographs illustrating the key features of the material under investigation. Samples are prepared as thin sections in-house, ready for examination with research quality polarising and fluorescent photo microscopes.
