Responsible for setting up and managing the Product Engineering department including 11 engineers and technicians as well as the controlled introduction and approval of new products and technology into the North Tyneside facility during a time of major transition from a low to high technology plant.Part of a team responsible for managing the fit out and completion of a £15m, 40,000m2 green field site and the installation and commissioning of more than £6M of capital equipment including fundamental changes to the method of manufacture previously employed at South Tyneside. The role involved leading a team of 18 degree qualified engineers and technicians and managing the main site contractor. I also played a lead role in the recruitment and training of manufacturing staff and the start up and day to day running of the new facility.
