Managed the General Licensing operations for the largest performing rights organization in the United States, managing a revenue budget of over $110 million. • Responsible for managing ASCAP’s Atlanta office, providing customer care for 90,000 customers, managing collection efforts, maintenance of large accounts and a variety of back office functions. • Exceeded budgeted revenue goals each year while consistently reducing expenses.• Revamped early collections efforts by outsourcing the function and reduced staff by five employees, improving collections for accounts in the 60 to 120 aging categories by 40% while lowering operational costs by more than $68,000 per year. • Implemented new technologies in the office including a new phone system with reporting capabilities, check-by-phone system, OCR technology and an improved Rightfax for sending and receiving electronic facsimiles. In addition to improving efficiencies, these moved the company closer to a paperless work environment and helped reduce operating expenses. The new phone system alone allowed us to cut our phone expense by 50%. • Improved office morale, implemented new procedures for employee evaluations, improved key performance measurements, created a progressive counseling process to ensure consistency in dealing with performance issues and increased employee focus on revenue objectives.• Relocated office to a much improved, larger location and reduced lease expense.

Following a very heavy acquisition period by Paul Allen/Charter, promoted to a group vice president and managed operations in southern Georgia with responsibilities for more than 180,000 subscribers. Three of the systems in this group were over-built by other cable providers.• Built a group staff to provide technical, marketing, human resources and operational support for 10 systems.• Consistently met/exceeded revenue, cashflow and subscriber goals each year and was one of the few groups in the entire company to reach targeted goals in 2001.• Successfully completed upgrades in several areas either on time or ahead of schedule and deployed new products and services.• Spearheaded a joint project with city officials in LaGrange, Georgia to provide WorldGate (Internet service via television set and wireless keyboard) service to every resident in the city for free for one year. This project gained international attention for Charter, WorldGate and the city.

This extremely competitive environment gained national attention in industry trade publications and was a very high profile system for Charter.• Successfully held market share while competing against a very aggressive and technically advanced over-builder. In 1998 we actually gained customers for the year.• Became very involved in the community, which helped to improve the company’s overall image and increased our visibility.• Deployed high-speed cable modem service, digital technology and WorldGate in the Newnan system, as the technology for these services was still being fine-tuned. Newnan, in fact, was one of the first systems in Georgia to deploy these services.
