Leading Toast Electric - the only not-for-profit electricity retailer in Aotearoa. Toast Electric provides power at competive rates to households and small businesses in Wellington and Horowhenua. Toast also works with partner social service agencies to refer and support low income households with low cost electricty, home upgrades, and onward referrals and advocacy. Our mission is to create an at-scale adn market solution to the misery of energy hardship in Aotearoa. By diverting profits from privately owned company owners and shareholders to fixing social issues we provide an alternative and fair energy future for all.

Responsible for leading our team of 50+ staff across a range of social, environmental, energy efficiency, and health programmes. Key successes include growing a successful social enterprise model that generates sustainable income from home energy efficiency services and directing surpluses into education and social projects benefitting Wellington residents. In addition to our project delivery, we have also been active in informing government policy as well as contributing to industry consultations on a range of sustainability issues.

A long-term member of the Board providing strategic governance and management support to CEN as we work to ensure all New Zealanders have access to a warm, dry, and safe home.

Administrator/Head Monk/Chief bottle washer at Zen Mountain Center in Southern California for 10 years. Instrumental in installing and maintaining the Center's renewable energy system (PV, hydro, wind), involved in water, electric, and gas supply, construction and landscaping. Road grading, tractor work, backhoe expert and meditation instructor round out my experience in this mountain retreat.

First real job supporting a new team working on feasibility studies and implementation for irrigation of wastewaters into forests. Roles included system design, sampling, reporting, data analysis, and a lot of time in the forest.
