I lead the Tompkins Wake Energy team.Achievements:• Partnership negotiations – advised WEL Networks on its negotiations and agreement with Crown Fibre Holdings for the rights to build and operate (and eventually own) the Crown-funded Ultrafast broadband network in the Central North Island. I advised Christchurch City Holdings on the arrangements between its subsidiary, Enable Networks and Crown Fibre Holdings. • Technology negotiations – advisor to Counties Power, WEL Energy and Alpine Energy on smart meter strategy and agreements including key arrangements with state-owned electricity generators and retailers. • Infrastructure negotiations – advised Mataura Valley on the procurement of $250m dairy factory construction and technology contracts.• Advised Open Country (New Zealand’s second largest dairy processor) on $50 million capital raise, a transaction involving the Takeovers Code, Overseas Investment Act and Securities Act.• Advised Ultrafast Fibre Limited and Enable Networks Limited on $200 million of procurement agreements with Huawei for layer 2 active equipment for Ultrafast broadband network covering 30% of NZ.
