A company decision had been made to migrate all of their data off the many “in house” mainframes onto one dedicated application, namely Life/400.My role in this migration of data is to insure that the integrity of the data coming across to Life/400 is maintained, that there is no degradation in service to the client whilst using the new systems. I was responsible for the development and the conversion element of the project, as well as the testing and training. This programme of work was successfully implemented in November 2006. -

My role initially in this project was to assist in the data mapping, gap analysis, and Product Set up. As I have extensive knowledge and experience on both applications.I was responsible as “Test Manager” for the Testing Hierarchy for the complete migration, along with the training of staff prior to implementation. My role included:• Recruiting and interviewing the Test and Training Team which amounted to 15 Contractors and 12 FTE’s.• Responsible for the budgets and cost centre of “Implementation” within the programme.• Continually meeting with the Business Representatives and reviewing the issues and implications around the development & conversion Issues within the programme. (ie) Defects, temporary work arounds etc.• Providing plans and timelines to meet our delivery and continually resourcing the testing in a timely and effective manner as developments get delivered and then the training of which thereafter.• Monitoring the many other different projects, who have conflict of interest with our code, and indeed many instances signed off code.• I was responsible for ultimate Sign off of all deliverables within the Programme from a Test Perspective. -
