This program of work was to transform the Bank and modernise it’s infrastructure, move its 2 data centres from Brisbane to Sydney, migration of 600+ applications and establish a Private cloud.My role in the program of work was to negotiate the commercials, manage the relationship between the Bank and its Technology Partners and insure the delivery was kept on schedule, and financials were aligned to the original business case. This program of work was a 3 year delivery and closed successfully in August 2020.

My role was to consolidate their many different business applications including Trans-Tasman with their offices in New Zealand. A company decision had been made to migrate all of their data off the many “in house” mainframes onto one dedicated application, namely Life/400.My role in this migration of data is to insure that the integrity of the data coming across to Life/400 is maintained, that there is no degradation in service to the client whilst using the new systems. I was responsible for the development and the conversion element of the project, as well as the testing and training. This programme of work was successfully implemented in November 2006.

On this particular contract I was working on a Migration Project with Friends Provident International.Friends Provident acquired Royal & Sunalliance International and have decided to have one dedicated system for conducting their Life Business. This involves migrating all of the Life Business from Royal & Sunalliance’s system’s (Life/400), to Friends Provident’s in-house system called Gladis. My role initially in this project was to assist in the data mapping, gap analysis, and Product Set up. As I have extensive knowledge and experience on both applications.I was responsible as “Test Manager” for the Testing Hierarchy for the complete migration, along with the training of staff prior to implementation. My role included:• Recruiting and interviewing the Test and Training Team which amounted to 15 Contractors and 12 FTE’s.• Responsible for the budgets and cost centre of “Implementation” within the programme.• Continually meeting with the Business Representatives and reviewing the issues and implications around the development & conversion Issues within the programme. (ie) Defects, temporary work arounds etc.• Providing plans and timelines to meet our delivery and continually resourcing the testing in a timely and effective manner as developments get delivered and then the training of which thereafter.• Monitoring the many other different projects, who have conflict of interest with our code, and indeed many instances signed off code.• I was responsible for ultimate Sign off of all deliverables within the Programme from a Test Perspective.

I worked on Third Party Administration products for our Spanish & Italian Clients. This involved stakeholder management with the Business units and gathering their requirements for their own specific business processes. Once I understood their needs and wants within each of the different European countries, it’s a case of developing the CSC Life/400 base system to accommodate within reason their requirements. I worked on some new product development from specification to developing the products on Life/400 and finally overseeing the testing of these products

I was the lead Business consultant on a migration from an old legacy system within the Life Office, on to The Life/400 system. This particular migration was concerned only with Lump Sum Single Premium business to the Office. Along with the migration we added extra functionality to the base system to improve the package offered to their external clients. Part of the added functionality was as follows: • To install commission functionality.• To install an Intelligent Desktop.• To enhance letters via a new print engine.• Data cleansing. My role in all of the above was to gather requirements from the business, take part in the design and architecture of the software, write business specifications, and oversee the writing of test scripts and the processing of same.

When I returned to head office, I was involved for a number of months in testing the regional base system of Life/400 for existing and other potential sites. One of the main projects was a multi thread project, which would make the overnight batch jobs more efficient and in turn reduce the batch window. Another part of my job was to a complete review of the product definition for the Australian base system.
