From a very young age I new that I wanted to build what ever I wanted or could imagine. It started with building plastic model kits, then came scratch build models from plastic kit parts. That evolved into building my own "parts" from scratch. By the time I finished high school I had completed 5 professional model making jobs, exhibits and was the youngest paid model maker on the set of Darkman heading up the hero model build. Soon after I moved into pattern making at Pacific Miniatures. Within 4 years I had built over 100 patterns ranging from 3" to 20' raising the bar in display model aircraft. During my employment at PacMin, I had a "special" arrangement to where I could leave for work on films. Had a few gigs, then I landed a job at TransFX working on Batman Forever. It was a good time working with a bunch of people who shared the common interest of building something cool. It was here where the big change happened. I was hired for my pattern making skills, flaunting my ability to shape something from nothing. First couple weeks were great, I was beating the "CNC" machine..at least I thought so. So a weekend passes, I come in Monday to find a 1/12 scale perfect recreation of the Batmobile made in my favorite medium Ren Shape 450. In disbelief that it only took the weekend, I just saw my career as a pattern maker go out the door, the rest is history. Since I have been using digital technology as a tool to do my bidding, it seems that imagination is my only limitation. Working at TransFX and Wildfactory has given me the chance to pioneer the use of modern technology in entertainment, aerospace and beyond. The experience I have gathered over the years has given me a unique perspective on how we can compliment the variety of industry techniques. I have worked on over 20 feature films, built countless prototypes, written over 50k CNC programs, designed thousands of parts and assemblies, developed and help develop techniques that have changed fabrication techniques, written quotes and ROMs ranging from $25 to half a million. I have worked on, props, displays, exhibits, patterns, mockups, integral aircraft components legacy and prototype, full size vehicles, theme park installations, ultra custom concrete tilt-up, architectural installations, awards and trophy's, medical products and all sorts of other really cool stuff I cannot talk about!!
