As Chief Executive Officer I am responsible for every aspect of the charity's activities. I also work with the board of trustees to ensure that the charity's aims and objectives are properly implemented.

Age UK South Lakeland is a charity supporting older people across South Lakeland. As the Partnership Development Manager my role is to build relationships with other Third Sector organisations as well as statutory organisations to try and demonstrate that the Third Sector is a powerful cohesive network, with professional people who are able to deliver invaluable services to those in need of support and help. As part of my role I also promote a number of digital tools developed by Age UK South Lakeland that are free to use by other not-for-profit organisations to assist them to be part of that Third Sector network, deliver professional services and casework and also explore ways in which to generate unrestricted income.

Charitek’s mission is to promote a cohesive and connected Third Sector by supporting all partners large or small to embrace the use of digital tools designed by the Third Sector for Third Sector, thus enabling us all to work safely and compliantly in true partnership. Charitek provides a suite of powerful software tools, free to use by any Third Sector organisation who shares the common vision that working together works for everyone. Partners are provided with the tools and support they need to develop their local not for profit partnership networks.

I was the Chief Superintendent in charge of the East Midlands Police Collaboration Programme whose mission was to examine and implement collaboration projects involving the five Police Services of the East Midlands, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire. This programme aimed to identify efficiencies both in terms of operational policing and financial costs by combining services to create an East Midlands-wide solution to areas of operational delivery and support functions. Projects included the development of regional-wide units to deliver Serious and Organised Crime, Operational Support Policing, Custody Systems, Armed Policing, Forensic Services as well as regional HR and training facilities.

I completed a full 30 year career in the Police Service, retiring in 2014 at the rank of Chief Superintendent. During my long and fulfilling career I performed a number of roles at different ranks in both uniformed and plain clothes. These included Neighbourhood Policing, Roads Policing, Crime Investigation and Operational Support roles. I held a number command roles within local policing and other specialised roles such as Criminal Justice, Regional Policing and Intelligence Management and was also an accredited Public Order and Firearms Commander. In 2005 I spent a period of time working within the Home Office as a National Policing Advisor, finishing my career as the Programme Manager for the East Midlands Police Collaboration Programme.
