The civil works also included the construction of admin’, E&M buildings and workshops with architectural finishes such as helical staircases, louvres, sub-floor cable conduits, fire service and air-conditioning systems, etc.Administration and supervision of major remedial works to the SSDS Main Pumping Station (SCIMPS) at Stonecutters Island STW, water testing of the wet well areas, completion of the Works, and interface with E&M and tunnel contracts. The main pumping station (SCIMPS) consists of a circular/ring wet well (with a common inlet chamber of 50m depth) and a dry well located central to the wet well where 8 No. pumps connect to the twin wet well circular sumps. Administration and supervision of construction works to the SSDS Stage I Outfall comprising the completion of outstanding marine works and the rectification of the sub-sea rock armour defence barrier surrounding the diffuser pipeline (approx’ 1,200m length), rectification of defects to the outfall diffusers (24 Nos.) and diffuser pipeline, seawall (rock armour) rectification works on Stonecutters Island. Also appointed as the Resident Engineer responsible for the commissioning phases of the Stage 1 Outfall in late 2001. Administration and assessment of contract claims associated with 4 Nos. of contracts (Civil and E&M) which made up approximately HK$2 billion of the value of the SSDS Stage I Project.Note: SSDS was renamed HATS in 2002; Harbour Area Treatment Scheme.
