As an Agribusiness owner you wear multiple hats. I help with the legal aspects that revolve around those hats. You have the responsibility of looking after animals, crops, workers, family, finances, transport, safety and welfare, the list goes on…..My responsibility is to ensure, as best as possible, that you are made aware of your legal rights and obligations and that you take appropriate action ahead of time to meet or reduce your risk and to save any adverse impost on the business. My passion for the agribusiness sector started over 20 years ago when I took over the role of in-house counsel at WAFarmers, a relationship that I still hold to this day. I am also involved with the WA Shearing Industry Association, Safe Farms WA and previously with WANTFA.Some of the common issues that I deal with within agribusiness include:🍃 lease and licence arrangements🍃 access and compensation agreements (mining and Oil and Gas)🍃 employment matters (contract and workers’ compensation advice etc) 🍃 estate matters (business succession and disputes over estates etc)🍃 contracts (machinery, milk, herd, business sale etc)I am usually found in our West Perth office, but I do get out past the Perth Hills as often as I can to WAFarmers or WASIA events, on farm visits and of course the Field Days. I have a couple of favourite coffee spots in West Perth, if you would like to catch up you can get me on phil@bailiwicklegal.com or 0427 783 168
