Phil Burke is the COO and Co-founder of Rev.1 Engineering and a 21 year veteran of Medical Device Product Development. After working for Devices for Vascular Intervention (D.V.I.), Advanced Cardiovascular Systems (A.C.S.) & Guidant Corporation, Phil teamed with Eric Johnson to create Rev.1 Engineering. In addition to his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Phil has expertise in every stage of Medical Device Product Development, from concept to manufacturing. Starting in medical device R&D, transitioning through manufacturing, Phil progressed into specializing in project/program/portfolio management. Leading R&D teams through the product development process for medical devices of all types.Through the years, Phil and his teams have released products that have made positive impacts in thousands of patient's lives. Phil created Rev.1 Engineering so that he would have the opportunity to continue to drive many more quality products to market that will both make a positive impact in patient's lives, and create value for clients. Since starting Rev.1 Engineering, Phil and his partners have developed medical products in a wide range of fields including Spinal Pacing, Angioplasty Delivery Systems, Ablation Catheters, Spinal Implants, Suture/Vessel Repair Systems, Transapical Access/Closure Devices, Infusion pumps, Incision Closure Devices, Radiation Protection and Electrical Mapping Catheters.

Rev111 was a company I launched as a start up with venture capital in 2006. I sold Rev.111 in 2008. The new owners are successfully running the business with a new name, MetalCloak.

Most of my professional career was built and honed at Devices for Vascular Intervention, Advanced Cardiovascular Systems, & Guidant Corporation. Product Research, Development, Manufacturing, Project Management, & Resource Management for the above mentioned companies (now all under the Abbott Medical umbrella) allowed me to build my skill sets to a point that I was ready to venture out on my own. While at the above mentioned companies I built significant skill sets in the field of Disposable and long term implantable minimally invasive medical devices. Holding and advancing through positions in the R&D, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Resource Management groups allowed me to compile and refine the skill sets I now carry with me into my newest ventures.

TriTech, most noted for the creation of the "JetStream" High Performance, refillable, aerodynamic, paradigm shifting hydration system for the Tri-athlete market. Since its inception in the early 1990s the "JetStream" drinking system radically replaced all other hydration systems. Today the Jetstream Nxt is still the dominant force in the tri-athlete hydration market. My role at TriTech was to perform the development of, set up and manage the manufacture of , and control the distribution of our in-house developed tri-athlete products.
