Chief Executive
CurrentWLMA is one of the UK’s largest consortia of drainage and water level management boards.*** As Chief Executive, I have taken a leading role in establishing and growing the WLMA to a group of six drainage authorities, who jointly administer their affairs to improve outcomes and reduce costs, as well as strengthen each authority’s own organisation and increase influence at a national and regional level, whilst retaining required autonomies. Recent major initiatives include a multi-year capital expenditure programme of pumping station and offline storage projects, including Wolferton Pumping Station, opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in February 2020.In addition to management of the consortia, and as water level management in the UK becomes more critical, WLMA has expanded its provision of services to multiple flood and coastal risk management authorities across England and Wales, in addition to trusts, charities, community groups, developers, agri-businesses and landowners.
