I've been writing, producing, performing and teaching music for more than three decades. My private lesson facility, Phil Circle Music, has won awards and has locations in Los Angeles and Chicago. Outside music, I have run several retail establishments, owned three different service businesses and an online retail one, written for magazines, worked at The Chicago Tribune, and taught for six years in the school system in virtually every subject area. On a couple different occasions I oversaw the business side of The Chicago Actors Studio, where I also studied acting. That led me to a few lead roles on stage. I did a podcast about Life, Music, and the Pursuit of Answers. I have also written a book about surviving 30 years in music as an independent. It won an award. My goals remain as they've always been: I will continue to pursue more training and new opportunities in my work as a musician and communicator. I am expanding my work with my self-promoting indie label and coaching studio. I will continue to write, record and perform. Ultimately, I hope to crawl into bed at the end of any given day, kiss my wife goodnight and awaken to continue my journey the following morning with confidence that I'm doing the best I'm equipped to do, giving as much of myself as I can, and contributing in some small way to creating a better world for us all.Specialties: Music performance workshops, music business for the indie artist, advanced private instruction in voice and/or guitar, songwriting workshops, and artist life coaching.
