Working with Capita ICT and Digital Services to ensure the delivery of cost-effective ICT solutions to the city. The technical practice has, working with Capita ICT and Digital Services, joint overall responsibility for all ICT deliverables and enterprise architecture, technical designs and solutions produced for BCC. Also technical lead on a major three year service transition, which will gradually transfer back full control of our IT and digital services from Capita - ICT and Digital Services, with the council becoming the “System/Service Integrator”by 2021. This change programme is a major undertaking and will be the biggest transformation of IT and digital services in the Local Government Sector, delivering savings and significant changes to operational services.

Service Birmingham is a joint venture company between Capita and BCC with the principal focus on providing cost-effective ICT solutions to the city. Service Birmingham has a turnover of circa £120m, and BCC being the largest local government authority in Europe with an annual budget of circa £3.5b. The technical practice has overall responsibility for all ICT deliverables and enterprise architecture, technical designs and solutions produced for BCC by Service Birmingham.
