However, statistics show that a child who earns a sixth grade education has hope for breaking the cycle of poverty because they learn basic reading, writing and math skills that open doors to a brighter future. This is the foundation of the Lunches for Learning mission.

Development DirectorNorth Georgia Camp & Retreat Ministries Jul 2006 - Jan 2016Dahlonega, GeorgiaResponsible for all friend-raising and planned giving for North Georgia Camp & Retreat Ministries - including Glisson Camp & Retreat Center, as well as the expanding companion ministries of the Experiential Leadership Institute (ELI) and Grow Day Camps. For Glisson, in 2014 we completed a $4.9 million capital campaign - the most ambitious campaign Glisson has ever undertaken. We successfully launched Glisson's first-ever Annual Fund in 2007, followed by the introduction of the Cane Creek Falls Fellowship, Glisson's planned giving society, in 2008. We completed a comprehensive Updated Master Plan in 2009 and 2010, followed by a feasibility study in 2010 and 2011. That Updated Master Plan led to the launch of our $4.9 million Serving Generations capital campaign in 2012 - which was successfully completed in October 2014.We also received Glisson's largest single gift of $1 million in 2015, designated for additional capital improvements beyond those covered by the Serving Generations capital campaign.

Director Of AdmissionLagrange College Apr 1992 - Nov 1997Lagrange, GaAs Director of Admission, I was responsible for all student recruitment and admission strategies for the college - including traditional students, non-traditional students, graduate programs and the summer Visual Arts Workshop. During my tenure, we implemented LaGrange's first-ever academic scholarship interview process, as well as the first-ever early orientation program for incoming freshmen. Our recruitment strategy involved a shift in focus away from the traditional, and more common, travel-based recruitment model to a more personal direct-contact model - further refining the model I had developed at Andrew College previously. This model utilized telecounseling strategies which allowed Admission Counselors to make direct, personal contacts with more prospective students and their parents in any given week than a travel-based approach would allow. Initial telephone contact was used to confirm the interest level of prospective students, making follow-up travel to students' hometowns and schools much more effective by allowing Admission Counselors to focus their travel on the students most likely to choose LaGrange. This new recruitment model resulted in a 13% increase in new freshmen in the first full year of implementation (Fall 1993). -
