As a Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), I provide services specific to the goals and needs of each person. These supports are provided within a person’s own home or apartment. Depending on the client, I may assist with socialization, home care responsibilities, personal care, cooking meals, medical maintenance, and any other case-by-case needs.

As a Youth Care Worker, my responsibilities included fostering relationships with youth through positive role-modeling with professional boundaries, monitoring and maintaining a safe living environment, and ensuring youth had access to appropriate supplies/clothing. I also participated in clinically-based activities (i.e. groups and mentoring) as assigned, evaluated and responded to emergency situations according to policy and procedures, and role-modeled and promoted a positive attitude and work environment.
