In addition to setting the strategic vision and driving business growth, I am directly involved as a Cyber Essentials Assessor and Cyber Essentials Plus Auditor. This hands-on role allows me to ensure that our clients not only meet but exceed the necessary security standards. By combining leadership with in-depth technical expertise, I guide organizations through the certification process, helping them build strong, resilient security frameworks that stand up to rigorous assessment and auditing.

Short term contract to provide cover for Cyber Essentials/Cyber Essentials+ customers.

As Lead Assessor I was taken on to develop their Cyber Essentials offering for an established base of customers. I acted as a mentor to junior assessors and raised the quality of self-assessment marking which led to a reduction in the frequency of moderations. I worked with all levels of the business to review and improve their CE processes to establish consistent levels of service to customers, ultimately leading to growth in revenues from Cyber Essentials customers.

In this role I had responsibility to take clients through the full journey of Cyber Essentials, from initiating the self-assessment, to issuing the certificate and moving onto carry out the full CE Plus testing criteria with the client’s representatives.

As a self-employed engineer I have supported customers in the Aerospace and FMCG sectors by providing maintenance services on software and hardware systems, working methodically to solve complex problems on a daily basis.Recent clients include,• Rolls Royce: Winbro. Providing preventative and corrective maintenance on the client's large fleet of Electro Discharge Machines (EDM)• Logistex:BT Openreach/Wolseley. Working on automated, PLC controled cranes, minilifts, conveyors and other associated warehouse equipment.

I worked closely with the senior leadership team acting between customers, and Application Engineers to develop product lines in support of the business strategy. Key responsibilities were, • Follow business priorities working with strategic customers to extend product offerings into automotive applications, gaining an early foothold with Tier 1 electric vehicle manufacturers. • Drove CAPEX projects to invest in testing infrastructure that was essential to qualify products to demanding automotive standards.In this period I developed excellent communication lines with the stakeholder of the businesses number 1 priority customer, which lead to them nominating Eaton to their flagship project.

Operations Manager - Service DepartmentResponsible to lead and manage all aspects of the service department consisting of a repair workshop and UKAS accredited calibration laboratory. - successfully scaled the local team to manage a transfer of work from North America. - communicated at levels to ensure day to day priorities were set and that business directors were informed of forecasts and progress, whilst managing customer expectations. - supported the professional development of team members.

Starting as a contractor providing engineering support for the prototype manufacturing of JSF power distribution products.As a permanent employee supporting obsolescence management activity before taking the lead of a sustainment engineering team of 12. Responsible to lead all engineering support for the manufacture of power distribution products. - interpreted FRACAS data and using it to direct root cause investigations and develop corrective actions. - Bring together 3 engineering functions (Post Design Support, Cell Support and Test Equipment Support) - Used Lean Six Sigma methodology to solve internal test reliability issues improving first time pass rate from 50% to 80% I also lead a design review of the product to resolve reliability and obsolescence issues.

The Weapon Engineering teams maintain and operate complex communication, detection and weapon systems including radars, sonars, missiles and gun systemsAs a Chief Engineer I had responsibility to ensure planned maintenance was carried out on all systems within the group and ensured the operational capability of the missiles group equipment.Identify, diagnose and rectify equipment defects, and to clearly communicate any effect to operational capability through the chain of command.To provide the command with equipment operating at peak performance.To prepare for and conduct live firing trials, analyse telemetry data to ensure optimised performance.To train and develop technicians supporting and guiding throughout their career development.I completed a HND Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) and earned a City and Guilds Graduateship award in Leadership and Management (GCGI)I served for 12 years deploying to the Arabian Gulf in 2002, around the globe in 2007 and to the Falkland Islands in 2010, supporting UK interests, maintaining equipment readiness during peace time and in conflict.Identified a process flaw which invalidated vital alignment data in the Royal Navy's fleet of radar tracking systems, driving the investigation to identify root cause, resulting in a successful trial and a process correction which improved fleet performance.
