After completing the move successfully, 93% of staff said that there had been effective communication to support the move.Despite only being in the role for nine months (covering a secondment), I'm proud of the achievements below and the positive team morale we built during this period:• Staff engagement score increased by 7% from 69% (October 2022) to 76% (April 2023)• Average views of intranet stories increased by 59% (between June 2022 – December 2022)• Survey participation increased by 6% from 68% (October 2021) to 74% (October 2023). Helping to engage and inform the public on efforts to improve roads and infrastructure across the country. I am currently working on Essex County Council’s unique push to create a new dual-carriageway A120 between Braintree and the A12 to support economic and housing growth not just for Essex, but for the rest of the UK.This work includes project management, resourcing, stakeholder management, communications, marketing events, consultation and evaluation.

Using a mix of engaging and sometimes humorous content, I managed to gain positive coverage in the Daily Express for V Festival traffic management; 10,000+ combined views on social media with a unique music video on gritting information; and 22,000+ views on A120 consultation video content which resulted in nearly 3,000 responses.The role offered a lot of variety including consultation promotion, campaigns, reactive communications, social media, proactive press releases, photocalls, filming opportunities and branding.Skills I have picked up and honed in this role include smart phone video editing, Canva graphic creation, managing major consultation promotion, budget management and communications evaluation through the GCS framework. One of my proudest achievements to date is leading a unique project to support the filming of a major Hollywood blockbuster using a road closure in Essex. This wide-reaching role involved day-to-day tasks including answering local and national media enquiries, manning the ECC social media accounts and writing press releases.During my time in the role, I took on extra responsibility for senior communications for both libraries and registration services during a major restructure.

Writing and selling online/newspaper copy to national papers including The Sun, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, Daily Express, Daily Star, London Metro, London Evening Standard and Daily Telegraph. My role also includes covering court cases, door knocking and investigating stories for the above publications.

Writing exclusive front page articles and page leads for three editions of the Enquirer newspaper series.

Dealing with leads by phone and email, NIB writing, arranging interviews, admin bookings, spikes, post etc.
