I have the privilege of leading the wonderful team of people that is Conservation Volunteers Australia. Over the past 35 years we have gathered a unique breadth and depth of skill, experience and capacity that enables us to provide thousands of people with the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the care and rehabilitation of our environment. Every day CVA is partnering with government, community groups, corporate partners and countless individual supporters to enable people in local communities across Australia to make a practical, positive difference to the health of the environment whilst also gaining new skills, learning more about the world around us, making new friends and having a great time! My role is to best position the CVA team now and into the future to do more of that and to do it to the best of our collective ability - and that's a privilege.

Green Army is an initiative of the Australian government. Green Army is a hands-on, practical environmental action programme that supports local environment and heritage conservation projects across Australia. I coordinated the writing of the CVA tenders that led to CVA being appointed by the government to manage Green Army projects across Australia. I am now responsible for directing this work, coordinating the building of a comprehensive management system and leading our relationship with key stakeholders (ie Department of Environment, Minister for Environment, project partners and local MPs). CVA is the largest single Green Army Service Provider managing approximately 200+ projects per annum

I directed business development for Conservation Volunteers across Australia and New Zealand, coordinating the initiating and implementation of programs and partnerships on a national level and supporting my colleagues at a regional and state level as we developed program and partnerships with the government, corporate and community sectors.

In 2001 CVA created a senior management position to oversee its multiple strategic partnerships with all levels of government and across corporate Australia. I was appointed to that role and to oversee a team of 6 Partnership Managers to continue to seek, develop and maintain key partnerships.

Green Corps is the Australian government's national youth environment training program. CVA was integral to developing Green Corps and was subsequently contracted to manage Green Corps on behalf of the government. I was the inaugural Program Director providing strategic management of the program and contractual relationships with government at bureaucratic and political level.
