As a Regional Director I am tasked with the overall success of our affiliates in the field. This includes their ongoing projects, personal development, general health and well being. I serve on several boards of locally registered NGOs and as senior consultant for a few projects.Currently I oversee six countries with a total of 20 affiliates who directly report to me. They are working on 9 separate projects or programs involved in things as varied as Agriculture, Education, Food and water security, Church planting in unreached and remote areas, leadership development, HIV/AIDS response, Gender issues and other issues.I like the varied nature of the work and it maximizes my experience and label as a generalist.

The CRO at NMSI is responsible to find, engage and deploy missionaries and resources to do Gods Mission. I oversee the Mobilization and Advancement Departments and the 2 divisions in each department. In addition I participate in the Officer level planning for and oversight of the entire organization.

I work closely with Theme Leaders and Regional Directors to assist affiliates and partners in integrating their programs and projects into the fabric of the communities in which they are based. Staying abreast of current development methods, outcome based planning, research on change dynamics other relevant topics and acting as a resource to local partners and affiliates enhances our chances of effective, sustainable, holistic results. I also interact with our affiliates to help them align their day to day work with the preferred outcomes. Creating additional value in their lives by coaching and mentoring to enhance their personal and professional productivity slows turnover and reduces the stress inherent in an intercultural work environment. In the corporate office I participate in strategy and organizational planning. I assist Engagement, Recruitment, and Mobilization in raising awareness of NMSI to potential participants and partners.

Responsible for all aspects of the Clubfoot programs in Dominican Republic, Haiti and Honduras. This included recruiting and training country coordinators and consultants, grant procurement oversight and overall management.

I oversee the Counseling aspect within CURE Clubfoot Worldwide and CURE Hydrocephalus programs with particular attention to those countries without a CURE Hospital. In this program management role I bring together country teams, help forge strategic plans, develop training materials, lead training sessions and train local trainers of counselors for CCW and CH. I also have responsibility to forge relationships between CCW and CH programs and Government, civic and faith communities, develop psycho-social resources and encourage community leaders located near the program sites.

Currently involved in all stages of set up in our growing CURE Clubfoot Worldwide programs. Developing new counselor training modules, evaluation tools and leading training globally. I was tasked with assessing the state of the patient counseling function with the nationwide Clubfoot programs CURE had in 2011.As CCW continues to grow, adding new countries every month, evaluation of effectiveness of all components of each CCW country program allows us to maintain standards and develop a body of 'Best Practice' for eliminating clubfoot as an adult disability using country specific nation wide programs.

CURE sends teams of orthopedic,surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and medical support to work within a network of partner hospitals. As Relief Director Phil provides administrative and financial management to the short term team activities in Port au Prince. This includes on-the-ground coordination of personnel, logistics support and coordination for equipment and supplies both imported and obtained locally, providing regular and timely communications to the US based Haiti Lead, and other Cure Staff involved in the medical relief effort. Provides a link with governments, NGO's, Aid groups and others working in Haiti to maximize results and minimize overlap while fostering networking partnerships. also provides spiritual care to short term teams and Haitian personnel while identifying long term needs.

During my tenure NMSI grew an average of 30% per year from $140,000 to $5,998,000 annual budget and from 6 employees to 200 with projects in 27 countries. Developed the core values, mission and vision and led organizational development of NMSI. NMSI.orgRecruited board of directors nationally & represented organization to the public. Initiated annual outside audit and IRS compliance. Responsible for driving the vision, setting up the financial and HR divisions, initiating and overseeing international projects and providing strategic council to the board and global team leaders.Certified by ECFA (an accounting standards council for Christian non-profits). Earned Best Christian Workplace designation and Charity Navigator 4 star rating (highest possible) for last four years. Recruited and retaining highly qualified personnel with turnover rates of less than 3% for the last decade and employee satisfaction levels in the top 3 % of our industryInitiated innovative programming and registered profit making businesses in Uzbekistan, India, Myanmar and Kenya. Personally reviewed international contracts and employment agreements.Developed organizational structure which fosters innovation, accountability, continuous improvement and excellence. Met government, private sector and NGO workers internationally for strategic planning, visiting projects and personnel in 46 countries. Developed a global crisis management plan and personally led trauma counseling in Kenya within weeks of the start of political violence there. Oversight of cultural preparedness and all phases of global operations. Ensured best practice methodologies internationally, adapting business models to the non-profit sector.

Implemented entry into Russia, Egypt, Kenya and Zimbabwe and began growth pattern of NMSI.

Missionary to Kenya living and working in remote areas with Maasai tribe. Developed and implemented training for Kenyans in entrepreneurship. Initiated grassroots income producing and projects.
