Led a global additive manufacturing workforce development training program for the department of defense and defense industry, and trained 498 personnel over 4 years in topics related to additive manufacturing technology and design. Received $450,000 as Co-PI to research and develop a process to fabricate structured metal matrix composites with selective laser melting technology.Secured ~$110,000 application development contracts that utilize metal additive manufacturing processes or the Multi3D system (a polymer AM system capable of fabricating electronic devices) with clients in the defense and manufacturing industries. Managed research projects related to electron beam melting and selective laser melting additive manufacturing technology. Communicated design requirements and oversaw the implementation with a vendor designing and manufacturing a Multi3D (hybrid manufacturing system - polymer AM with the electronic embedding capabilities) system variant.

Demonstrated the ability to create microstructural gradients in Ti-6Al-4V using electron beam melting. Resulting in a publications and a patent application. Developed electron beam processing parameters for high purity niobium for use in superconductive applications.Led a research project studying the fabrication of a Ni-superalloy with electron beam melting and monitoring cooling rates with a multi-wavelength pyrometer. Created a Matlab program to analyze tensile testing data.

Created a Matlab program to read simulation results from an additive manufacturing process simulation and create a 3D visualization of the data and process metrics such as cooling rate, time above beta transus temperature, and max. temperature.

Managed day-to-day activities of an educational lab used for solid mechanics and thermo-fluid lab classes in the mechanical engineering department at the University of Texas at El Paso.

Fabricated graphene aerogel following a modified Hummer's method and subsequently tested the material for use as an anode in a Li-ion battery and an electrode in a super capacitor.
