Very experienced occupational physician with a proven track record for creating changes and opportunities at academic medical centers in the area of occupational medicine and safety. These include UMass Medical, Baystate Medical and most recently Dartmouth Health. These changes also included creating opportunities to improve the health and wellbeing of our employees. This was especially true during the COVID pandemic. During the pandemic I was invited to present the importance of wellbeing to many health care workers at DH and other healthcare and non health care businesses.Below is my capstone project for the AAPL certification as a certified physician executive.My leadership philosophy, which is based on the values of transparency, authenticity, respect, inner equanimity and fairness. My overarching goals are to provide employees and employers with a fair and equitable assessment of the health and safety challenges in the workplace and improve communication between them. My competencies and achievements. Over a period of two years, I created a standard agenda to transform the Enterprise wide core services of compliance with immunizations, especially flu vaccine, TB testing and improve the delivery of injury care through a robust modified duty program. The major challenge to accomplish this agenda was to improve the morale and engagement of the team members of the department. The most impressive was the Press Ganey score of my department was one the highest in the organization with a score of 4.57 out of 5 and a 94% readiness to change.The second competency is trust and respect. An example of an accomplishment is the work I did to gain the trust of the Pittsfield community on the PCB issues over a period of two years. As the first chairman of the board of health I faced the challenge of a very angry and emotionally charged community concerned with their health and safety of their neighborhood because of PCB'sThe third competency is strategic perspective and I used this to influence a physician behavior, the CEO at UMass memorial health care. As a co-leader I was tasked with developing. AND IMPLEMENTING A WELLNESS PROGRAM.
