Overall responsibility for the general running of the organisation: Recruitment / Personnel Management, Financial Management, Marketing / Promotion, Client RelationshipsAchievements:• Built the client base from a low of less than 100 to over 400 regular riders.• Developed a highly successful young people’s activity club, EquiClub, which regularly had 30 attendees at the weekend and 50 plus per day during the summer holidays.• Developed a team of 4 instructors and 8 grooms both full and part time.• Worked closely with local special school to provide regular riding lessons for pupils, and with the local authority to do the same for adults with special needs.

Under the leadership of the Headteacher the Local Authority deemed that the school would be placed under Special Measures in an upcoming Ofsted inspection.Achievements:• During the year it took to remove and replace the Headteacher, I led the team that ran the school with responsibility for everything non-teaching, including dealing with a case of TB in the staff.• As Chair of Governors I had to deal with politicians, both local and national, as well as the press, trade unions and by no means least the parents of the children.• I ensured that all procedures and regulations were fairly and accurately followed.• I was heavily involved in the recruitment of 8 full time teachers.• Working together with the Governing Body, the staff and the wider school community the haemorrhaging of children away from the school was first halted and then reversed.• Once the school was judged able to pass the upcoming inspection I took the lead in ensuring that the legal requirements for the Headteacher to be judged by the General Teaching Council were met
