Manage daily operation of the mine.Ensure safety standards are met and maintained.Liaise with the client on a daily bases.Work closely with the Geology, Survey, Engineering departments.Chair weekly planning meetings with client.Attend monthly contractual meetings with the clientWork out remuneration for the contract minersReport on a daily bases to the Project Manager.GBF mining have the contract with CGAO to operate all three of their mines. Mining consist of trackless mining, narrow vein mining using Jumbo’s and long hole drill rigs to drill out the stopes. Also we utilize Air leg miners to stope out the narrow vein ore that is laying on a very flat angle, and would not be able to be mined with mechanical means.

Controlling the day to day running of the Barminco Contract. Monthly invoice calculation. ($4m a month. Total of $130m over three years)Day works checking and signingDaily work inspection underground.Daily performance meeting and reporting to General Manager.New contractors to site i.e. RUC and contractors as needed.Monthly and quarterly meeting with contractor.All associated tasks of running the project.Alternate underground manager.Accident & Incident investigation.Communications to Mines Department.Also went to South Africa to assist and review the Mponeng deepening project. This project was to spend a total of 7 weeks on the mine and to assist with the selection of trackless mining and trackless mining methods using Jumbo’s and trackless loaders.This happened on two occasions with a six months period apart. I’m currently still in contact with the project and send information and advice as required.

All associated work of running the underground operations.Weekly planning and forecast of development headings.Weekly planning and forecast of production tones.Conduct safety meetings.Planning annual leave for operators.Working with new mine employees to develop a career path.During my time at Golden Grove I went to America on two trips to assist and teach bolting and meshing with Jumbo’s. The first trip was for 4 weeks. (With Tony Vincey) The second trip was for 18 months and was Mine Foreman for the Midas Mine in Winnemucca Nevada. Were recalled back to Golden Grove after this time.

With ground pressure and stress the equivalent of South African deep level mines.
