The Strasshof project is a green field development located 30 kilometres east of Vienna. The gas is sour and gas sweetening will be achieved using Shell Global Solutions' Sulfinol process. The sales gas will be used for domestic consumption. The acid gas removed by the Sulfinol process will be injected into existing reservoirs and used for recovery of other hydrocarbons. This acid gas injection will be a "first" for Europe. The basic design package has been prepared for the well sites, the infield gas gathering lines, the central processing plant and the acid gas injection facilities. The project has been postponed, from the end of September 2007, until more gas reserves are proven.
