Recently retired after about fifty years of working my fingers to the bone, normally managed by idiots and morons and getting zilch in the way of job satisfaction. If anybody needs a worker, part-time, about twenty hours a week, in or near Urmston or west Manchester, let me know . . . Career-wise, I had extensive experience of working in various industries, of needing to meet very challenging targets and all within constantly changing working environments requiring the ability to make decisions and amend production as required. I enjoyed needing to communicate on production issues with both management and workers alike and my history of training people, on systems in various industries, is well proven. I also loved writing procedures as and when such things were needed. No, full-time work can go to Hell, reading, writing, watching footie and cricket and travelling can take up the slack, time-wise. Oh, joy of joys, and to Hell with getting up at 4.30 in the mornings! My brain is scrambled, my body is knackered, my ability to be productive is slipping away. Cornwall, the Lakes, the Dales and the Cotswolds are all calling to me and I cannot ignore those calls any longer . . . Socially, on a totally different subject, most of my thousand+ letters (up to 1,740 when I last counted a few weeks ago) published in the national press are moaning about useless, incompetent, lying, self-serving, greedy politicians - who I hate with a passion! Looking at the other 23-odd Philip Codds on the internet my lack of mentions seems to reinforce my belief that, whilst some people are forgotten after they die, I may be forgotten BEFORE I die!Hey, ho, such is life! PS - Just read my "rank for profile views" has gone down by 36% in the last 30 days!!! Couldn't really care less if I'm being totally honest - even if I knew what it was, which I don't!
