Nu Look has excellent manufacturing equipment including Brake Presses, shearing, Turrets, powder coating on premises, welding , and high polishing for mirror finishes as well as grinding. We build custom metal from our clients specifications. Nu Look also offers design and CAD services. Once I graduated Ryerson or Rye High as it was called back then I landed a job at Wire Weld as a Sales Manager. My sales training simply consisted of being given a catalogue and pointed towards the nearest mall to hunt down head offices of retailers and move Wire Weld product. Wire Weld makes a primitive shelving system out of road mesh and metal angles. It is really basic and really tough to move, how many people want only a specific shelf system? Through sheer hard work and determination, however, I sold over $400,000.00 in 11 short months. I also brought them some of their biggest customers to date. Most important,however, was I found a niche market. Most clients wanted custom metal. They wanted exact products for their exact needs. That is how I got the idea to form Nu Look Metal. Nu Look concentrates on giving clients exactly what they want.

As a young enthusiastic Body Builder I wanted to express my new hobby in the form of a T-Shirt. In 1979 when I was 17 there simply were none. So I decided I wanted to start my own line of T-Shirts. I hired a designer through a friend of mine who's parents ran a printing business. Unfortunately or fortunately she drew it wrong but it looked better than what I had envisioned so I used it anyways. There was no internet at the time so I ran ads in Muscle magazines, and sold them mail order. Eventually they ended up in fledgling muscle and fitness shops. Also brand new was body building contests. I then moved on to selling T-Shirts at Body Building Contests, including the first ever Toronto Body Building contest. I then, expanded to selling Rock Concert T-Shirts and Rock Buttons wholesale and at concerts. It was quite fun and it paid my way through high school and college.
