Plumbing Forman & EstimatorD&D Enterprises Plumbing & Electrical Inc Jan 2012 - Feb 2013As the company grew by diversifying its service capability, so did the opportunity for my growth. As my understanding grew, my responsibilities grew to include: Material take-offs for Estimates, upcoming project phases, planning around lead times, and coordinating their delivery.Project planning, answering questions, and collaboration of details relayed to and from the Inventory & Resource Dept. and the field personnel. Also, I initiated collaboration for the improvement between the Materials & Resource and Estimation departments to improve the decimation, flow and retention of key information and to standardize and clarify descriptions and pricing, which improved the accuracy of the estimates and reduced the duplication of tasks over multiple departments at different stages in the projects.I also annotated collaboration between the Materials & Resource Dept. and the Service Technicians to improve the tracking and translation of information controlled through Inventory but used by the Service Technicians, together, we created an understandable and organized vernacular that our Technicians could quickly navigate and Office Personnel could effectively collaborate with. -

Plumber & ElectricionPutnam Contracting Services Feb 2009 - Jul 2010When I started this job, I had no idea it would be some of the most unique and interesting experiences at work.I was hired as a General Laborer, and by taking initiative and making myself available to my supervisor, I became the choice assistant. Then, by assuming responsibility for the orderliness of my working environs and thinking ahead to better enable the work that came next, I quickly elevated myself to Crew Lead and Assistant Superintendent for a multi-building apartment complex.I performed tasks ranging from operating earth moving equipment, control panel wiring, pre-dig layouts, and installation of Site Utilities, Plumbing, Electrical, Communication, Stormwater, Water and sewer mains, and up to 72" concrete storm drains.Team Leader for multiple pump systems and control panel integration: sewer lift stations, forced main booster pumps, municipality sewer sanitation, and associated leech field.Highlight project: I had the pleasure of doing a unique installation of a freshwater collection pump system inside a spring house covering the entrance of a cave at the foot of the mountain, where we pumped the water over a mile away to the Macon County Water Dept. water filtration system.

PlumberChc Machanical Mar 2007 - Jul 2007I mostly worked at Cookeville Regional Hospital on the North Wing, 6 Floor addition. My first position on this project was assisting the Copper Med-Gas crew. I aided the team by prepping the copper pipe and fittings and setting up the Nitrogen regulators to purge the lines before soldering. My experience in Plumbing gave me a short trip to become a Crew Leader. My responsibilities were to jump-start the progress of the 3rd-floor Plumbing before the walls were framed. We were instructed to accomplish this with two approaches:One by prefabricating the cast iron DWV risers through preplanned holes in the floor and ceiling, waiting to receive branch lines, and allowing the walls to be erected around the risers. Two, by using the Blue Prints to layout and mark the hallway walls and associated doorways on the floor and then translating the appropriate understanding of lines to the ceiling so we could anchor the Trapeze Hangers into the concrete floor above and then suspend the Copper Water Mains in the designated area.I fulfilled my two weeks after my notice and left on the final day shaking hands.

Plumbing Crew Lead & Electrician ApprenticeD & D Enterprises Inc. Plumbing & Elactrical Aug 2004 - Mar 2007Shortly before my 19th birthday, I returned from serving as a staff member at summer camp, the family business was short-handed and needed me to step into a leadership position for a Cheddar's Restaurant in Hendersonville, TN.Working over the road, on a fast pace build cycle, the goal was 90 days after the concrete slab was poured, to turn over for employee training. Through this high-demand build cycle, with multiple of Plumbing;6" and smaller PVC, Drain Waist & Vent (DWV)2" Copper Water pipes with solder jointsHigh-pressure to Low-pressure T&C Black Iron Gas line, with regulators to feed just under a million BTU to feed the roof and just over one and a quarter million BTU to feed the cook island in the kitchen.Because of the multiple phases of the project and only having my crew on the project consistently, I learned to collaborate between Leadership and the Superintendent's goals and needs.I learned to visualize the upcome work to make accurate material lists, reduce the need to leave the job site to search for materials and to keep us from holding up a phase of the project till we came back the following week. This involved me in learning to modulate the needs of the contractor to the flow of our resources.

Plumbing & Electrical AssistantD&D Enterprises Plumbing & Electrical Inc Jun 2001 - May 2004I started officially working for the Family Business as the "Shop Boy," which, looking back, really meant #1 Lacky,... because I lacked a LOT.I was responsible for organizing and sweeping the warehouse, pulling material lists, and loading them in the designated truck. As I became bored with some of my simple tasks, I started requesting new tasks that interested me or where a gap could be filled, and mostly the ones that would get me out of the warehouse.I learned how to weld, which, when I started, probably looked more like metal bubble gum joining 2 pieces of metal. But with guidance and persistence, it didn't take long for me to get it looking closer to mounds of metal laid over on each other. It also resulted in cleaning and learning to maintain & repair, Vehicles, Heavy and Small Equipment and Trailers. Which was fine by me; that meant I got to drive and operate them.Operating equipment around the warehouse and stockyard put me on a fast track to being a fill-in equipment operator out on the projects. The first big project I remember having a tangible role in shortly after I turned 18 was in Knoxville, at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse in the Turkey Creek Shopping Mall.My role was to pile the dirt being dug out for the Plumbing Underground and pile it outside of the building while consuming the least amount of space possible and not to cover up any utilities as the dirt waited to be hauled off-site.Not long after that, I dug the underground for the Bonefish Grill and then a Fast Food Place located in the same parking lot as the Fleming's.I had gotten my DOT Health Card for operating a single-axle dump truck to haul off the before-mentioned dirt I piled up. Shortly after, I acquired my Class A CDL endorsement to drive the dump truck to pull an equipment trailer.I also worked on these projects while cutting my teeth as a plumbing assistant. My responsibilities were to predict what the Lead Plumber would need before he asked for it.
