After volunteering for 4 months with Inspiritus Disaster Relief due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian, I utilized my 35 years' experience in the tennis industry to continue the recovery process in the Fort Myers area. The application of my knowledge from construction, maintenance, instruction, and program development has been a valuable asset as I transitioned to a NCCER Core Instructor at the Rapid Recovery Construction Academy. Applying creative and proven techniques, participants developed skills and gained experience to begin a career in the construction industry. Working through the Florida Masonry Apprentice and Educational Foundation has had a significant impact on those displaced by the hurricane.
