Nominated by USOC's Athletes Advisory Council and approved by the USADA Nominations and Selection Committee to serve a four-year term as one of two athlete members to the USADA BOD. Greatly honored to serve all those Olympic athletes who choose to compete clean and play fair.

Co-founder of a small, urban farm in south bay San Diego that provides fresh seasonal produce, pasture-raised eggs, and honey from rescue bees. Part-time farmer, beekeeper and chicken wrangler.

Manage and coordinate all aspects of the Harvesting San Diego program of SD Roots Sustainable Food Project. Harvesting SD gleans excess fruit from residential and business properties in the Central San Diego area and donates the produce to local food banks.

Served as one of three athlete members of the USATF BOD after being elected by my athlete peers in the USATF Athlete's Advisory Committee. Served during a tumultuous time at USATF that saw numerous institutional changes to a large non-profit sports national governing body.

First represented the US at international competition in the summer of 1989 in the US v. Canada Junior Racewalk Dual Meet. Highest level of competition was at the Olympic Games in 2000, 2004 and 2008.

I competed at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games in the 50km racewalk, an event in track & field. In February of 2008, I won the U.S. Olympic Team Trials and in May bettered the Olympic time standard at the IAAF World Racewalk Cup in Russia.From 2005-2008, I coached myself and trained competitive and recreational athletes through a series of fitness.

Collected data on beach attendance numbers and trends through surveys and manual counts, edited academic papers, and gathered permissions for publication.
