I jointly led a committee of 17 people in organising and providing outdoors activities to over 300 paying members. Our program involved up to 5 events a week spanning the areas of hillwalking, expeditions and climbing.As part of the society’s executive, we sought to improve and formalise many practices from the preceding year. These included the continued integration of a new financial system; a secure system for reporting incidents and the protection of personal details; and the implementation of a new system centralise how we planned and delivered activities. I also helped implement a full financial analysis of the society’s previous years data. For a society with an annual revenue of c.£30,000 it was imperative that newly gathered data was integrated into formulating policy decisions.

I was jointly responsible for the teaching and climbing development of members in both indoor and outdoor environments. This included organising multiple climbing weekend trips, biweekly instructed sessions and mentoring and introducing members to ‘trad’ style climbing.It was also my role to maintain high standards of safety during the societies climbing activities—this centralised around both instilling professional level standards in members and the procurement and ongoing inspections of the society’s climbing equipment.

Member of a small team that individually instructed and lead groups of up to 20 children aged 8-18 in outdoors activities such as climbing, archery and crate stacking.Other responsibilities involved assessment and upkeep of equipment, organising and preparing activities to be self instructed by scout leaders along with general groundkeeping related responsibilities around the campsite.
