ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Carry out rope access safely to internationally adopted and approved standards to gain suitable advantage to inspect closely and accurately areas of concern.Perform internal and external inspections to determine if a weldment or equipment meets the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document. Conduct inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of the fixed equipment of the facility. Properly interpret regulations, codes and industry standards. Use a computer to compile and submit daily reports and inspection reports, as well as for inter-office communications.Compile and submit completed inspection report in a timely manner. Be proficient with standard computer software (such as MS Word and Excel) and be able to write detailed inspection and shutdown reports while maintaining an organized system of files. Maintain a positive relationship between client, facility and customer; and promote a positive attitude towards coworkers.Visual inspection of tanks, piping, pressure vessels, valves and pumps.Pit depth measurement or other dimension verifications using precision measuring equipment and recording results.

Carrying out all types of conventional NDT to new build and in-service items, structures and piping, this was both on and offshore and working on various client sites including refineries and at the base. NDT procedures were adhered to along with usual safety behaviours associated with various working environments. Time constraints were often involved due to client turn around demands and tight scheduling was necessary. Working was a mix of team effort and individual labour along with meeting the clients level of satisfaction, sometimes initiative was relied on to achieve requested results. Radiography was a key part of many inspections requiring innovative solutions to access problems for both equipment and setting up due to geometries and working areas. Liasing with the client and understanding their needs was an integral part from planning through to completion and final reporting, this was all carried out with professionalism and integrity resulting in a good working relationship.
