Program Manager for the Buried Piping Integrity Program in Fleet Engineering Programs - Responsible for the governance and oversight of the Buried Piping Integrity Program for Duke Energy's fleet of six nuclear power stations in North and South Carolina. Ensured engineering program impacts were identified and addressed by the modification.• Assisted several construction projects to identify buried pipe locations before they dug • Acting Supervisor of Engineering Programs for 15 months -- including two refueling outages. • Project Manager for two successful Containment Integrated Leak Rate Tests.• Project Manager for inspections of six different tanks with capacities between 300,000 and 600,000 gallons. This included draining, cleaning, and inspecting the tanks.

Created and managed a database of routine reports to the NRC. Interfaced with the workgroups that owned these reports to ensure they were prepared and submitted on time. Managed the Administrative Technical Requirements Program and prepared and implemented several License Amendment Requests. Prepared semi-annual special nuclear material inventory reports for NRC/DOE, quarterly Nuclear Waste Fund payments for DOE, and annual low-level radioactive waste survey for the State of Michigan. Prepared and presented continuing education training on the environmental aspects of nuclear power for three groups of Indiana public school teachers

I was employed by U. S. Department of Energy's site Maintenance & Operations contractor. This contract was re-bid every five years, so I had three different employers there. They were:Bechtel BWXT Idaho, Oct 1998 – Feb 2000Lockheed Martin Idaho Technologies, Oct 1993 – Sept 1998EG&G Idaho, Inc., March 1991 – Sept 1993I was the Deputy Project Manager for a 12-person project team that managed a $250 million project to design, construct, and operate a first-of-a-kind facility to retrieve and treat buried, transuranic, radioactively-contaminated, hazardous waste at a DOE facility. Responsibilities included technical work performance, quality assurance, planning, scheduling, and budgeting of project activities. Maintained cost and schedule status for the program including earned value reporting, cost and schedule variance analysis, and developing corrective actions.

I was employed by an Idaho company and assigned to a select team in Washington, D.C. for one year that provided direct support to the U. S. Department of Energy in developing the preliminary design for the Modular High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor (MHTGR). This included coordinating scheduling and managing the formal review process for plant system designs, managing a commitment tracking system for DOE, and initiating a self-assessment program that resulted in improving work processes. Upon completion of this work, I was transferred to Idaho and managed work packages related to design and fabrication of the MHTGR fuel assemblies

I was responsible for the containment building, reactor vessel material, and spent fuel storage rack testing programs for Point Beach Nuclear Plant. My responsibilities also included plant life extension planning, reactor vessel materials surveillance, and reviewing industry operating experience documents.• Project Manager for four Containment Integrated Leak rate Tests (ILRTs) and the containment Tendon Surveillance. Reduced program costs 40% while completing projects ahead of schedule. • Installed two different first-of-a-kind instrumentation systems

I supervised a crew of five control room operators at a U.S. Department of Energy plutonium production reactor.

I completed naval nuclear power training and submarine school, a highly selective program that accepts only 5% of the officers in the Navy. Following initial training, I completed a tour of duty as a division officer on a nuclear powered fast-attack submarine, USS Barb (SSN-596). Qualified in Submarines and was awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medal.
