Phil has been an accountant in practice for over 26 Years.After an early career in banking, Phil commenced his accounting career with the Hawthorn firm of Cox Hanley and Walker. He quickly progressed to partner within two years, but decided his challenge lay in making his own way in the world.After a short stint as a sole practitioner, and having worked closely with Walter Moscatelli, the practice of Ibbotson and Moscatelli was formed.Initial offices were in Camberwell, but in 2006 the practice moved to its current location in Malvern.Phil is a Chartered accountant with a Certificate of Public practice (awarded 1995), is a registered tax agent and is a member of the National Tax and Accountants’ Association.Like most accountants in practice, Phil has varied experiences over a number of different industries with all sized clients. From tradesmen through to $40m plus national retail chains, all clients are important and valued. Phil has developed a specific speciality with supermarkets, looking after over 20 independent stores.In keeping with this area of interest, Phil is the Company Secretary of the Master Grocers Australia, a national employer association. Phil also provides board services to a number of his larger clients.Phil and his colleagues are committed to on-going professional development.
