Technical lead of a major component package for A330NEO. This program delivered improved fuel efficiency compared to existing A330 aircraft by implementing a number of design changes; in the case of the spars these changes included an increase in span by 2 rib bays (approx. 2m) as well as optimisation of existing structure to reduce weight by applying the latest analytical techniques.Managed a team consisting of permanent staff and contractors in day to day technical activities and providing resource and schedule planning at OWB management level ensuring overall program targetswere metApproved all final spars stress analysis and drawings allowing the manufacture of initial components topre-agreed targets for time, cost and qualityMentored more junior team members by checking their work, providing technical feedback and guidanceenabling the team to work more autonomously.

As part of the A350XWB wing MAP team I followed the flight and ground test wings across three sites within Europe in one year providing line side engineering support, before remaining in Toulouse.As a level 2 stress approver my responsibilities were focussed upon checking and approving (as well as producing) stress justifications for plant and supplier concessions (all wing box structure, composite and metallic)Additionally I led stress activities for all mechanical systems installation issues.

Continuing my work in the A350XWB trailing edge team, I led Airbus stress activities for all composite inner TESS panels and associated components in preparation for C-maturity reviews prior to the release of the designs to manufacturing. My main responsibilities were - Providing support to the TESS RSP for all stress related dependencies, particularly where confusion existed on composite methods and for low RF resolution. - Managing all RSP stress work on this package to ensure deliverables were in line with customer needs.

After completing the Airbus DEG scheme, I took on a permanent role within the A350XWB fixed trailing edge team managing all loads deliveries into/out of the stress department.This involved providing impact statements upon each loads iteration after determining the risk to the current design as well as devising and implementing an updated loads correlation approach for the Trailing Edge Details (TED) and Trailing Edge Secondary Structure (TESS) work packages.

Completed six placements in different areas of engineering within Airbus: - A400M Ribs design - Completed C maturity wing box rib cleat design for batch 2 aircraft. - Long Range chief engineers - developed and maintained a tracker for life limited components in the flight test fleet to allow for more accurate budget forecasting. - Composites R&T - completed research into the use of barrel nuts for bolted connections in wing structures. - Flight test MAP - worked with the flight test support team in Toulouse. - United Airlines MRO (San Fransisco) - Represented Airbus within the UAL MRO team assisting with issues during maintenance. - A350XWB trailing edge stress - provided trailing edge inputs to enable inbox cover IML definition
