P J Morris Consulting Ltd provides training and advice to schools, both primary and secondary, on the innivotive and educationally exciting use of IT, particularly in science.

Mentor. The aim of this scheme is to provide independent support and advise to students who are training to be teachers and to newly qualified science teachers in their first and second years of teaching.

Developing and delivering of training to teachers in the National Science Learning Centre at York and the Science Learning Centre at Sheffield as well as within schools.

Consultant to many schools, both primary and secondary, all over England. This included support and training.

In 2007, I was the co-author of a chapter on the use of ICT, in the Association for Science Education’s “ASE Guide to Secondary Science Education” In 2010, I was co-author of a booklet entitled “ICT in Practical Science” published by the Gatsby Science Enhancement Programme,

This involved developing and delivering the ICT Module to both undergraduates and post graduate students who were undertaking the Initial Teacher Training course. The module developed knowledge and skills in ICT, and considered how these may be used in the science laboratory.

Part-time Tutor/Trainer on the ECDL courses organised and run by RM. These courses helped students to attempt to pass modules at an accelerated pace.

This responsibility involved being a member of the five strong senior management team which jointly managed the whole school plus the specific management of a team of teachers with responsibility for: - Examinations - both internal and external Records of Achievement Units of Accreditation Communication with parents - including the responsibility for parents’ evenings The monitoring of the implementation of the National Curriculum subjects Assessment policy Marking policy Rewarding students This post also included the responsibility for the construction of the school timetable

This post included:Responding to any requests for help from all the science departments in the LEA’s 160 schools. Organising and delivering In Service Training (INSET) to many groups of teachers, including those in other Local Authorities. Interpreting official documentation, chairing meetings, liaising with officials from other LEAs and generally deputising for the Science Adviser.Representing the Science Adviser and the LEA.

All the normal duties of a Head of Physics in an 11-16 Comprehensive School and those of a science teacher, teaching all 3 sciences to pupils of all abilities. I was also placed in charge of the introduction and running of the then new, Technology course. I taught ICT as a subject to pupils across the school.
