Responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of all programmatic aspects of the Annual Meeting and the Institute on Psychiatric Services (IPS), the two largest yearly meetings of the Association with attendance of approximately 15,000 and 1,500 psychiatrists and other mental health professionals respectively. Collaborates with the Meetings Division in scheduling and monitoring of all scientific sessions and meeting space. Manages the development and production of all meeting-related publications, including a Preliminary Program, a Meeting Guide and a Syllabus of Scientific Proceedings. Collaborates with the Communications Division on yearly marketing plans. Coordinates all activities of and provides counsel to both the Annual Meeting and IPS Scientific Program Committees on matters pertaining to the planning and development of the scientific program, strategic session scheduling, meeting publicity and APA policy.

Responsible for the interpretation and implementation of all ACCME, AMA, and FDA requirements related to commercially-supported educational activities and coordinated sanctions if necessary. Prepared, submitted and monitored all educational grants for commercially-supported programs at the Annual Meeting and Institute on Psychiatric Services and oversaw the successful on-site completion of those programs. Reviewed procedures and enforced policies covering industry support of re-purposing educational sessions as enduring materials in accordance with ACCME guidelines. Advised the APA Scientific Program Committee on all matters pertaining to commercial support.

Assisted Director in the smooth operation of the Membership Office resolving difficult membership-related problems, ensured that all members received satisfactory customer service, as well as prioritized, organized and monitored major departmental projects so that all deadlines were met. Acted as Operations liaison for all database issues; assisted in the support of the Membership Committee, related ad-hoc work groups and task forces. Monitored departmental workflow, identified problems and provided solutions to increase workflow efficiency and accuracy. Developed a “team-concept” to assist assigned staff in learning to use each other as resources for problem resolution and fostered a positive team-enhanced environment. Supervised the work of the Membership Specialist and Membership Assistant.
