Responsible for the Development of HV Electrical Interconnector opportunities for NationalResponsible for delivery from exploration of opportunities, business model development, identification & mitigation of constraints e.g environmental, legislative & regulatory, securing consents, preparation & issue of RFP, development of partnering agreements & commercial structures through to a Financial investment Decision.

Responsible for the development and growth of the business, focused on all aspects of the the delivery of projects from identification of opportunities, business model development, identification & mitigation of constraints e.g environmental, legislative & regulatory, securing consents, preparation & issue of RFP through to award of construction contracts.A wide ranging role encompassing all aspects of the renewable and energy industries.

Responsible for the development & implementation & management of Risk management, business continuity and compliance systems across National Transmission Services(Gas) covering all disciplines incl. construction, asset management, network design and SHES. Focussing on embedding processes as part of everyday operation.management of Letters of Assurance for all Directors within NTS.

Development of risk management systems, Business Continuity & compliance mechanisms for National Grid Gas. Based at a Corporate level key responsibility to embed Risk & Compliance Systems into the business directorates & facilitate self management.Key challenges to make risk management part of the day job & embedded into management thinking.Development of Letter of Assurance process & delivery into main business following Sarbanes Oxley legislation.

Beginning as a control assistant in 1989 in Gas Transmission I progressed through a number of Engineering based roles during the development of the Gas industry as a commercial business, seeing major changes in gas sourcing, the separation of British gas, introduction of commercial systems, the dash for gas, major change in Transmission System Operation and the commissioning of the first UK inter continental gas Interconnector and electric drive gas compressors in the UK.My key focus during the 10 years was the development implementation & management of SCADA systems used for the control of the Gas National Transmission System & all associated commercial and technical interfaces from site engineering to customer billing.As such I had a wide range of experience from specifying telemetry and operation requirements for new power Station Connections to commissioning new Above Ground Installation control systems and ensuring that appropriate systems were in place to allow balancing of the system and effective energy management balancing was in place.I was involved in the de-odourisation of the Transmission system, the rationalisation of 12 regional systems into 4 areas, SCADA system replacement and ultimately the disposal of 8 regional networks by National Grid.
