Professor Philip Sookram is a first-generation, Guyanese-American, tenured Accounting faculty member at Saint Peter’s University (see Saint Peter's Peacocks Men's Basketball Team March Madness Elite 8 tournament run - March 2022).Philip is a 4x award winner, receiving accolades from the NYSSCPA, NJCPA & the CPA Practice Advisor Magazine, for advancing the Accounting profession. Professor Sookram holds the faculty appointment of Associate Professor of Accounting at Saint Peter’s University’s Frank J. Guarini School of Business (since 2018), where he currently teaches Accounting at the undergraduate & graduate programs. He previously taught in the undergraduate and graduate programs at Iona University LaPenta School of Business (New Rochelle, New York). He served as a board member of the NYSSCPA Manhattan/Bronx Chapter, and was apart of the NJCPA Emerging Leaders Council. His published contributions have appeared in the NJCPA Magazine, and has appeared on the CPA Review & More podcast (awarded Top 10 CPA podcast).At Saint Peter’s University, Professor Sookram serves as the faculty co-advisor for the Accounting Society student club and the Enactus Team, as well as a committee member of the Sustainability Council, mentioned in The Princeton Review's Guide to Green Colleges for six consecutive years (2014 - 2019).Philip is a proud brother of Delta Epsilon Psi (DEPsi) Fraternity, Inc.
