I received a 3.5 year studentship to investigate carbon cycling within grassland soils using a novel stable isotope tracer method and to quantify nitrous oxide emission factors in upland grasslands.Skilled in- Project management of separate research strands to ensure successful production of publishable outputs on schedule.- Production, validation, statistical analysis and interpretation of complex datasets.- Communication of my research to various audiences through production of progress reports, publication in peer-reviewed journals, oral presentations, and conference posters.

Throughout my PhD I have worked as a demonstrator on statistics, ecology and soil science courses at undergraduate and Masters level. This position requires teamwork, group management, including on field courses, and effective communication of complex topics to students.

Research assistant at the University of Edinburgh undertaking laboratory and field work to support two separate projects, one investigating changes in soil carbon due to biofuel cultivation and the other, hydrological monitoring of a plantation forestry catchment. This position required working independently in a remote highland plantation forest, careful time management to meet the demands of each projects and regular communication with the relevant project managers.
