In 1999, Philip directed Risk Avert’s new high-tech and services start-up. Within 12 months its new governance solutions were successfully developed, ISO27001 audited and adopted by major retail, distribution and service organisations across 2500 locations. Organisations use them to manage processes, including whistleblowing, health and safety, employee concerns, coronavirus response, anti-bribery, data protection, security, food safety and risk management.

Philip is responsible for all aspects of the Groups system strategy and its delivery including, infrastructure, software development, support, security and project delivery. The Group provides clinical services, distributes clinical products and manufactures prosthetic and orthotic products.

Philip is the MD of the company’s healthcare service, which focuses on optimising the productivity of clinical organisations through providing professional services, systems and procurement platforms.

Appointed as a member of the Executive Management Team in 2014, Philip was given responsibility for managing two functions, Group IT and UK Commercial and Sales. Managing Group IT, Philip defined a systems strategy, advanced the development of clinical systems, re-engineered order management systems to align with business strategy, re-engineered the UK ordering process and conducted a post-acquisition integration appraisal of a recently acquired Norwegian Clinical organisation. Managing UK sales and commercial Philip directed:> Tendering for NHS clinical service contracts (Orthotics, Prosthetics and Seating)> Sales of prosthetic products to none contracted customers (NHS and other P&O providers)> Developing sales strategies> Governance solutions for hospitals and clinical commissioning groups> Analysis of the effectiveness of patient clinical outcomes and value for money

Appointed as an independent consultant, Philip made recommendations to substantively improve Blatchford’s Clinical Service by developing bespoke clinical systems and re-engineering clinical and procurement processes. On a part-time basis, Philip subsequently directed the design; development and implementation of internet delivered systems, which today support over 60 NHS, MOD and private clinics and deliver significant benefits to Blatchford and their customers.

In 2004 Philip created Risk Avert, a business that helps organisations maintaining high standards of Corporate Governance and meet the ever increasing compliance demands cost effectively. During this period Philip provided confidential services to several organisations. Sainsbury’s PLC: Responsible for providing a range of independent whistleblowing services, managing matters relating to profit protection, security, employee protection and risks. This service has now been provided for over 8 years and operates in the UK and Overseas.D&WH Water Company: Provided independent risk assessment reporting services to the Board and its Audit committee. Virgin Media/NTL: Following the “telecoms bubble crash" of 2003, worked with the directors of NTL (subsequently Virgin Media) to establish a means of embedding best practice governance across the entire organisation. Philip designed and delivered a range of software and service solutions addressing whistleblowing, gifts and hospitality, crime management, health and safety, conflict of interest and employee security assessment. Philip provided these services from 2004 to 2015 when Virgin Media was Acquired by Liberty Group. Telewest: Provided the above services to Telewest from 2006 to 2009 when it was then acquired by NTL and their systems were merged.Arqiva: Provided a range of confidential governance services (similar to those supplied to Virgin Media) since 2007. VT Group: Provided a range of confidential governance services (similar to those supplied to Virgin Media) from 2008 until shortly after their acquisition by Babcock Engineering.

Philip created this interim management organisation and worked in strategic roles focused on increasing stakeholder value. Philip established long term relationships with major organisations often working with their Executive Management Teams. Excel Logistics: Design and implementation of their global parcel tracking business solution (Software as a Service) which is now used extensively by most global distribution organisations.Unipart: Business re-engineering and SAP implementation across the entire Group (£20m+ project). also, led several business development projects including the creation of their consultancy business.Apple: Responsible for the European Programme Office supporting the process re-engineering and SAP implementation in Europe ($50m+ project). Omron : Designed and implemented the financial systems strategy across Europe including the international treasury function based in Switzerland. Alcoa: Post-acquisition integration of a manufacturing business into Alcoa’s European process and systems.Acco: Led a team of consultants and internal experts implementing an ERP solution across its European businesses.RTE, Irish National Broadcaster: Undertook several strategic initiatives working with the Board of Management. Initiatives included delivering the 10 year strategy (identifying £30m of benefits), restructuring the TV production division (transferring 20% of production to independents) and implementing new Group financial systems. Channel 5: On the Board of bidder for the Channel 5 broadcasting license operating as the financial and project director. Flextech: On the Board of bidder for the HTV broadcasting license operating as the financial and project director.NTL: Working with the Group Financial Director, delivered a range of business strategy and financial services to support the creation of the business (privatisation from the IBA).
