These discoveries resulted in the market capitalisation of the company increasing to over £6 billion from ~ £600 million, an increase which . resulted in the company joining the FTSE 100 and helped to fund the company's exploration activities for the foreseeeable future. Set up Greenland Drilling Project team with accountability for planned annual expenditure of ~ £300 million and served as Drilling Project ‘gatekeeper’ with Board accountability for drilling programme compliance with Cairn Policies and Procedures
